Dimension #5 – Anatomy of Trusted Engineers. Great! But, what makes an Engineer Trusted?
Trusted Engineers have the following characteristics:
Fix what they break, and learn from their mistakes
Current understanding of the Product Context, Theory of the Market, and Theory of the Solution
Transparent and communicative about change
Implement exception handling and Try/Catches – the software can’t be silent either =/
Understand the tools, languages and component layers in their tech stack
Implement change in manner that is architecturally sound, maintaining design consistency when prudent
Proactively characterize the quality of their own work (i.e. unit, integration, and performance test, etc.)
Create Value without degrading the User Journey. Trust Level = Correct(Product Context +Theory of Market +Theory of Solution) * Solution Quality Coefficient
